NewGen Racquet Club was established in 2025, but our story began years earlier (summer of 2018) as a grassroots tennis academy with just a handful of tennis students. What started as a small program has grown into a full-service racquet sports club, built by families and individuals who care deeply about youth development, community, and the lifelong value of sport.
Our Story
2018
Bonadonna Tennis Academy began its journey at Ohio Dominican University, starting with just three students in its inaugural program.
As the academy grew, it eventually relocated to accommodate its expanding programs and to provide better facilities and training opportunities for its athletes.
2019
Bonadonna Tennis Academy experienced a significant surge in enrollment as its successful track record and growing popularity attracted more students.
The academy’s commitment to excellence in coaching, personalized training programs, and the achievements of its players in various tournaments contributed to its growth.
2020
NewGen Tennis Academy was founded by Tito Bonadonna and Balasz Novak. This new venture combined Tito’s successful track record with Balasz’s coaching expertise.
NewGen Tennis Academy became known for its dedication to developing the potential of each player, continuing the legacy of excellence that both founders had established in their careers.
2021
NewGen Tennis Academy experienced rapid growth, becoming the fastest-growing tennis academy in Ohio.
The academy’s innovative training methods and successful track record attracted numerous young athletes. It solidified its status as a destination for high-performance tennis training.
2022
NewGen Tennis Academy’s popularity led to such significant growth that it could no longer accommodate all its students. This prompted the decision to build its own dedicated facility. The new facility aimed to provide the necessary space and resources to support the academy’s expanding programs and to continue offering top-tier training to young tennis players.
2023
In 2023, NewGen made a pivotal move by purchasing land in Lewis Center for the development of its new facility.
The acquisition, completed on March 23, 2023, represented a major milestone in the academy’s expansion and long-term vision to serve a broader audience and reach the community.
During the planning and construction phases, NewGen continued to operate from multiple locations.
2024
NewGen realized its vision by expanding into a full-fledged racquet club. This new facility boasts five tennis courts and eight pickleball courts, marking a significant achievement in the academy’s journey.
With this expansion, NewGen not only accommodates a growing membership but also enhances its ability to provide training and facilities for its members and students alike.

After 7-years of dreaming, building, and persevering, 2025 marks the first full year of NewGen Racquet Club, a vision born in 2018 and officially opened on December 21, 2024.
What started with just a handful of students grew into a full-scale racquet club and a thriving community. The path wasn’t easy, but every setback was met with resilience and belief.
As we move forward, 2025 stands as a year of refinement, celebration, and laying the groundwork for the next chapter.
